Introduction to Babysitting

Introduction to Babysitting

Saturday, April 21 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Instructor:  Amanda Tucker

Many new babysitters face fears when it comes time to begin babysitting. What happens if they get hurt?  How do I change a diaper?

This four hour class is designed to prepare teens to feel confident when accepting a babysitting job.

Participants will learn interviewing tips, communication skills, ages and stages of young babies and toddlers, safety and first aid tips, and feeding and caring for children, including diaper changing.  At the completion of the course, participants will take a brief quiz and certificates of completion will be distributed.

Please bring a pen, paper, and lunch.

Thursday Afternoon Movie – 1:00 pm

Thursday Afternoon Movie – 1:00 pm

March 29 – Darkest Hour – With Europe on the threshold of World War II as Hitler’s armies rampage across the continent’s once proud nations, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Neville Chamberlain, is forced to resign, appointing Winston Churchill as his replacement. But even in his early days as the country’s leader, Churchill is under pressure to commence peace negotiations with the German dictator or to fight head-on the seemingly invincible Nazi regime, whatever the cost. However difficult and dangerous his decision may be, Winston Churchill has no choice, but to shine in his darkest hour.   Directed byJoe Wright
Rated PG 13 2 hours 5 minutes

April 5 – Murder on the Orient Express – What starts out as a lavish train ride through Europe quickly unfolds into one of the most stylish, suspenseful and thrilling mysteries ever told. From the novel by best-selling author Agatha Christie, “Murder on the Orient Express” tells the tale of thirteen strangers stranded on a train, where everyone’s a suspect. One man must race against time to solve the puzzle before the murderer strikes again.
PG 13  1 hour 54 minutes

April 12 – Faces, Places – Agnès Varda and JR have things in common: a passion for and the exploration of images in general, and more precisely, for places and for ways of showing, sharing, and exhibiting them. Agnès chose cinema. JR chose to create open air photography galleries. When Agnès and JR met in 2015, they immediately wanted to work together, to shoot a film in France.  This film also tells the story of Agnès and JR’s friendship, which grew stronger throughout the film shoot, between surprises and teasing, and while laughing about their differences.
Rated PG  1 hour 30 minutes

April 19 – Phantom Thread – Set in the glamour of 1950’s post-war London, renowned dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock and his sister Cyril are at the center of British fashion, dressing royalty, movie stars, heiresses, socialites, debutants and dames with the distinct style of The House of Woodcock. Women come and go through Woodcock’s life, providing the confirmed bachelor with inspiration and companionship, until he comes across a young, strong-willed woman, Alma, who soon becomes a fixture in his life as his muse and lover. Once controlled and planned, he finds his carefully tailored life disrupted by love.
Rated PG 13 2 hours 10 minutes

April 26 – I, Tonya – Based on the unbelievable, but true events, I, Tonya is a darkly comedic tale of American figure skater, Tonya Harding, and one of the most sensational scandals in sports history. Though Harding was the first American woman to complete a triple axel in competition, her legacy was forever defined by her association with an infamous, ill-conceived, and even more poorly executed attack on fellow Olympic competitor Nancy Kerrigan.
Rated R  2 hours
