Beginner Ukulele Workshop

Friday, May 18  –  6 – 8 p.m.

Learn the basics of playing the ukulele:
– From tuning to playing chords, we’ll get you started.
– Come with some interest and leave strumming a tune!
– No prior experience necessary

This workshop is for those who haven’t attended a beginner workshop yet.  We will work on the very basics.  Bring your own uke if you have one.  (We will focus on the soprano ukulele, but the concert and tenor work as well.) We have a limited number of ukuleles available on a first come, first serve basis.  Please register early if you would like to borrow one.

HERBS of the Mediterranean and Their Uses

Create a Mediterranean herb garden using the most common herbs of the Mediterranean region.  The focus will be on growing specific herbs, creating a favorable environment for their cultivation, and their culinary uses.  Related lore and symbolism will be presented.

Many vegetables grow best in spring and fall.  Learn how to grow all types of peas, most leafy greens, and many root vegetables that can be planted as soon as the soil can be worked in spring.  Harvest salads by June, and enjoy harvesting your fall crop until November!
